Our Principal

Dr. Callins is a Speech & Language Pathologist and her Ph.D. is in Special Education. She believes education from cradle to career is essential to achieving prosperity for every student at Language & Literacy Academy for Learning. Her vision is for every student to excel in the areas of literacy and language across all content areas. She believes in the potential of every student and chose the Phoenix as their school mascot. Just as the phoenix rose from the ashes, we will rise and soar above educational barriers.

“I no longer feared the darkness once I knew the phoenix in me would rise from the ashes” -William C Hannan.

What Parents are Saying

“In public school, I was told my son would never speak or read. Within his first few weeks with his amazing teachers at Language and Literacy Academy, he started speaking and shortly after he began reading! They truly understand him and how to reach him.”

“My daughter goes to this school and has done leaps and bounds. She is striving to success with the help of the staff and the administration.”

“I am so appreciative of being part of such an amazing environment. In two months of [my son] attending this school I have noticed the change and the glow in him. You guys are like a gift from god. Please continue to be extraordinary! I am so happy [he] is in this school!”
