Dear parents,

Gov. Ron DeSantis has issued a statewide order that people stay at home unless they are pursuing essential services or activities.

Please be assured that Polk County Public Schools will continue to distribute food, technology and learning materials for our students.

Each school is handling the distribution of available technology as well as paper learning materials to its students.

Please follow the directions of your child’s school regarding the distribution of devices and paper learning materials.

We will also continue to provide meals to our students.

Children may receive meals at any food distribution site.

Children do not need to be enrolled at the schools serving as food distribution sites.

Meals must be taken off site.

For the most up-to-date information on our available food distribution sites as well as their locations and hours of operation, visit

Thank you

Estimados padres,

Our Principal

Dr. Callins is a Speech & Language Pathologist and her Ph.D. is in Special Education. She believes education from cradle to career is essential to achieving prosperity for every student at Language & Literacy Academy for Learning. Her vision is for every student to excel in the areas of literacy and language across all content areas. She believes in the potential of every student and chose the Phoenix as their school mascot. Just as the phoenix rose from the ashes, we will rise and soar above educational barriers.
